Optopol Technology has been at the forefront of innovative product development for 30 years. This includes the first commercially available spectral domain OCT and the fastest and most feature-rich SD-OCT available on the current eyecare market.
Optopol Technologies was founded by the late Adam Bogdani in 1992 and is now run by his son, Marchin Bogdani. Based approximately 70 kilometers north of Kraków, Poland, Optopol now has several R&D locations and a U.S. subsidiary. Optopol has become one of the world leaders in automated perimetry and spectral domain OCT with thousands of devices in use in 90 countries.
Milestones under the leadership of Adam Bogdani:
2001 – manufacturing the first automated perimeter
2006 – manufacturing the first spectral domain OCT
2008 – IPO on Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE)
2010 – joining Canon Group and delisting from WSE
2012 – manufacturing the first Canon branded OCT
2014 – launching new generation of Optopol branded SD OCT devices
2014 – launching new models of automated perimeters
Registration of OPTOPOL Sp. z o.o. (Limited).
Establishment of Zakłady Produkcyjne Urządzeń Medycznych (ZPUM) OPTOPOL Sp. z o.o. (OPTOPOL Sp. z o.o. took over 100% of shares). Beginning of production of own medical devices.
ZPUM OPTOPOL Sp. z o.o. obtains ISO 9001:2000 certificate for design, production and sales of medical devices. Certificate issued by Det Norske Veritas, Norway.
ZPUM OPTOPOL Sp. z o.o. obtains ISO 13485:2003 certificate.
ZPUM OPTOPOL Sp. z o.o. extends activities to export sales.
Registration of OPTOPOL S.A. (Joint-Stock Company).
Start of series production of Spectral Optical Coherence Tomography SOCT Copernicus.
Zakłady Produkcyjne Urządzeń Medycznych OPTOPOL Sp. z o.o. changes its name into OPTOPOL Technology Sp. z o.o.
First participation in American Academy of Ophthalmology
Second participation in American Academy of Ophthalmology. First presentation of SOCT Copernicus HR – Milestone in Spectral Tomography. First presentation of SOCT Anterius – first device in spectral technology for anterior segment of human eye.
